Project Name: Beach and Community Cleanup Initiative

Our mission is to organize beach and community cleanup events, initially, every three months at various locations, inviting participants from the NDIS community and any volunteers to join us in making a positive environmental impact.

This initiative not only aims to reduce pollution on our beautiful beaches here in Moreton Bay but also provides an opportunity for individuals with disabilities to come together, engage in meaningful activities, and contribute to their community, whilst improving their health and wellbeing.

We will separate cans and water bottles, and the remaining funds from donations will be used for activity operations.

A Project in Honour of Jenny,
A Mother’s Legacy.

Jenny was just an ordinary woman, but she inspired a man who once lost his way and now seeks to be a better person.

I was 12 when my mother, Jenny, separated from my father.

That moment marked the beginning of a dark chapter in my life. I ran away from home, dropped out of school, and turned to stealing.

When I couldn’t cope with the pain, I sought refuge in drugs. By the age of 14, I found myself in Juvenile Hall.

At that time, I had no idea how much pain my parents were going through. All I knew was that my family had fallen apart, and I felt abandoned, left to survive in a world I didn’t understand. Despite everything, I am grateful for the time I spent in prison—it kept me alive.

By the time I turned 22, I was still living recklessly. One night, I drove under the influence and nearly lost my life.

The accident led to brain injury and left me with damage to my frontal lobe. My life changed dramatically. For nearly two years, I rarely left my house and avoided seeing anyone.

It was through the support of NDIS and TruAssist Tribe that I began to rebuild my life and participate in activities that gave me a sense of purpose again.

In 2023, just as I was starting to find my way, I received devastating news. Jenny, My mother was diagnosed with cancer and passed away shortly after.

I was crushed. I had always wanted to spend more time with her, to show her that I was finally becoming the man she could be proud of.

Although she’s no longer here, I am determined to honour her memory by doing something meaningful.

This project is for Jenny, my mum, who I will always LOVE. Also, this project is my way of showing my daughter that her father, who once made so many mistakes, is now committed to making a difference—not just for himself, but for others and our environment.

Follow our journey and lend your support. Let’s make a difference together.
